Try to put your bearing in the freezer for 5 to 10 mins then try and put your new seal on. The seal it self is rubber on the outside and metal on the inside that contacts the bearing. If that does not work you may need to press them on. Just remember your time is also a cost to your customers so buying the bearing with seal already installed maybe the faster route with less labor. When I did my 350 I got them from hva ready to install in the saw.

Sounds like a workable plan. I do this work more for pleasure than $$$

Ok, I got the seal off the other bearing, it's now in the freezer for a loooong time. I also cleaned out the inner shell of the new seal, quite a bit of rubber, inside.
The other bearing was bad, which I didn't even notice till I already had the job botched. So it went in the trash, no big loss.

Well, $20 of brand new seals just went in the trash. The freezer trick didn't help a bit. I carved out a hole in a piece of wood for the seal to fit in, then used a 3# hammer and a socket to fit the outer race of the bearing. It went in much better with the heavier hammer, but somehow the bearing got messed up. I thought I might have gotten trash in it but no amount of washing helped.
It felt PERFECT before I started!

I've used both a vise or hammer with a 1 1/8" socket.

http://northwoodsaw.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1118  Obviously can get the bearing cheaper at a local bearing service shop.

Just for you...

The way I put the seals on the last try worked VERY well but my problem now, I seem to be getting trash into the bearing and it don't clean out.
