395 XP Carb Question

I hate to admit it, but I have thrown in the towel on the carb in a Husky 395 xp.  It has whipped me like it caught me stealing something out of the yard.  It's a Tillotson.  Searching through here I see where it was indicated the original is supposed to be Tillotson in a post back in '14.  So, I'm going to throw a new carb in it.  There is a guy selling "OEM" replacement carbs # 503280410 on eBay.  He has two listings. One is Tillotson, the other is clearly Walbro.  They both look correct from the pics.  After the bruising I took from this Tillotson I'm thinking that Walbro looks enticing.  I've had many good experiences with Walbro.   But, I'm wondering if there are any issues with that approach.  It bugs me that it says "OEM" when it probably isn't.

Always appreciate you guys sharing your vast experience.

I know nothing about carbs etc on the 395.    But have you read the troubleshooting in the service manual workshop manual on 395 and carb section?  Can email it to your email used here.

Thanks.  I would appreciate that.  I've hit that section several times while fooling with this carb.  But, maybe I didn't get all the way to what I needed.

If Tillotson is an option I've always had better luck with them. If you don't have an ultrasonic a pot on the stove with detergent and warm it up for a few minutes can help clean it

Thanks for the help with the manual and the suggestion.  An ultrasonic sounds like a good idea.   This thing has changed personalities drastically on me several times now.  Something rattling around in a small port makes sense.

503-2804-10 is Tillotson HS-298, 503-2804-14 HS-300, Walbro WJ-115 501-3551-01 as is WJ-119 501-3555-01 is OEM Husky carb for 395.  Walbro's replaced Tillotoson on newer models why I don't know.
