I have looked at a bunch and if it had a cp 44mm on it someone put it there afterwards.

The 44mm did have nice little comb chambers though similar to a p5000

Yes, any top end that fits may be on a saw that old - but it is a fact that the 51 EPA had a 44mm top end at least from 1998 to 2000. The power rating was the same as the "normal" 45mm top end though, but of course that doesn't nesessarily mean that it was a closed port one. I just assumed it was, as those are plentiful out there - but as I said I have no evidense either way.....
