14.5 is pretty heavy for a 70cc saw. Old edition 372 was under 13.5 .Same with the old school 044.
New MS462 is 73cc and under 13.5

All of my OE 372 were 14.4 range. Even though paper specs said 13 range.

My first Husqvarna is my 2006 372XP. Still going strong but never was my favorite saw.
Will have to blow it out clean with empty tanks and weigh it.
If I remember correct my 272XP was close to 13.5

If those 572 weight and hp specs are correct the MS462 may just be my favorite new 70 class saw......

My 272 is brand new. Shouldn't have 3/4 lb of crud throughout it ;D
Saw weights are based on a saw off the assembly line before run up. No fuel in the fuel lines, carb. No chain oil ever put in it. Some weights are without dogs and other accessories on the saw.

Not all models are equal in weight throughout the years. Brother had a Jonsereds 670 that was a first year early unit off the assembly line it was a half pound lighter then the later units.

My early first year 064 was 14.1 lb  then the 064 ballooned almost a lb by the next year.

The early 272 like mine without the decomp were lighter too from what I was told after the 268XP transition.
So I guess I better dig it out of storage and weigh it. :D

Member that weighed the 272 said it had inner outer spikes, but no crud =   Doubt those spikes weigh a 3/4lb   :D

272 XP PHO, drained all the fluids and ran saw till it was dry of fuel.   Cleaned up all the debri around the clutch and the clutch cover.   Has double bucking spikes.

Is that early non decomp 272?
Still haven't weighed  my early 272, my tree removal business is presently at WOT.  Working solo all day and doing estimates after supper.
My winter off seasons from now on will be dedicated to a chainsaw sharpening business and will be a Oregon sawchain and accessory dealer. No fixing saws.
I have enough inventory already of b/c and sprockets to get rid of.

Here's a few pics from today . My favorite saw, my low hour 2008 395XP with 36" .050 .404 Oregon 50AL chisel bit chain.
I still got 30 feet of new 50AL and a little over 20 feet lightly rocked out.
When I aquire a couple loops of some Stihl. 404 High tooth chain I want to put those High tooth cutters on a loop of this 50AL chain.
Only need to find some Oregon .058 .404 presets if any one can help me out.
Thanks.
