I built this for out in my pole shed.
Just used two 2x6's with a spacer in between them, then I ran two pieces of cable so I could lock them up.

I use rafter hangers made out of 7/16 dia steel from Menards. They are cheap and strong.
-
The first pic is the way I mounted it to the rafter.
The next is showing how you have to shave one side of the post to get clearance to fasten the lazy susan to the floor.
The last pic is just how I hang my saws.

Thanks for showing that Mike. I really like that for showing some saws with the bars attached and now that there are pictures I have something to refer back to.

I don't but I'll try to get some in the next couple of days.

I keep thinking about the big tree trunk with chainsaw cut slots that hold the chain saws?
I have a setup like that in my shop.
Mine is a 6"-8" cedar post mounted on a lazy susan and with a piece of 1" galvanized well pipe in a hole drilled in the top.
Mike
Do you have any pictures of that Mike, I would like to see that.

True but I'm not certain too many do .
-
Chainsaw store better if you drain the liquids and clean them up a bit.
I notice that many people remove the bars too.
-
Nice sturdy wooden shelves are an alternative .Gets them off the floor at least .I've got hanging weed wackers though .They seem to multiply for some reason as do leaf blowers .Kind of like stray cats in a way .Most of them run but I'm certain they all did at one time or another .

I have seen some chainsaws hanging overhead from just a nail. It made me very nervous.

There was a thread on here somewhere about storage options for chainsaws but I cannot seem to find it. Perhaps Kevin or another member knows where it went.
-
Absolutely on "good hangers".
Don't want any dawgs in my hair. :'(
-
I've seen it done alot.
I have had those cheaper $ hangers snap unexpectedly before hanging other items in the past. So get good hangers for those pricey saws.
-
Trying to reclaim some floor space.
Does anyone hang their chainsaws from the walls or ceiling using large bicycle hooks or other fasteners?
