Maybe a junk spark plug too. Sometimes they'll show you a spark but not work in the engine. Cheap and worth a try.

Take the nut from the flywheel and see if the key is sheared?

The timing would be somewhere around 24 degrees before top dead center when the magnets have left the coil armature.

I have an MS210 that I am working on for a neighbor.  It has good compression, good spark, and is getting gas to the plug, as I just installed a new carburetor.  I cannot get it to fire at all, even if I put mix in the cylinder.  I am scratching my head on this one.  What am I missing?  Possibly the keyway on the flywheel sheared and it's out of time?  Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
