Many chainsaws use a double lip seal.

I'm not sure that a V seal is the correct application but I'm not sure.
Just so you know, there is a substitute for the 306 / 245 PTO side seal.
Poulan 245/306
-PTO seal: 530001936. Dichtomatik 068091VM (dist by Rankin Industries). .687"x.937"x.135" (OEM measurements). .688"x.938"x.172" (AM measurements. Suitable).

That material is better know as Viton. Better chemical resistance than Buna rubber seals , more $$ too.

need to replace seals on my Dayton 2Z463B (Poulan 245SA). I've found some PTO Inner seals on SKF site - 721570 and 711807. they're both
Description - BLOCK VEE SEAL
Lip Code - Longlife (Fluoroelastomers) (Lip Code: V)
Type/Style - BV
sizes match up pretty well but I don't know squat about materials. the SKF site indicates the fluoroelastomers can withstand fuel and temps up to 490F. any of yall had any experience with these materials?
