Yep.  A couple beater MS290/455 Rancher type saws would be fine for dealing with the palm/yucca jobs.  Keeps that garbage out of your good saws.

That's what plastic cased 029-MS390 type saws are for.  I've talked to tree guys that have a few 'palm saws' put aside for that mess....

Very corrosive and a skin irritant if you have sensitive skin. Yucca is worse...

You need to disassemble the chain side of your chainsaw and thoroughly clean all the mechanism after cutting into palm.

I do not believe I would weld that either.   Just too much corrosion.

I think there is more there damaged then he realizes. Look around the brake band area.

I think it is a 066.  Dont worry about it Adam IMO.

The guy bought 2 for $20 apiece.

Palm and Yucca are highly corrosive. I have my guys break down the saws and pull clutches after doing Palm removals for thorough cleaning and spray with LPS or WD Nasty chit!!

Don't think I'd mess with trying to weld that one... aftermarket case might be more cost effective

Guy wonder if it could be welded up or just get another case.  Dawg mount gone as you can see.
