Just got to save this pic of a husqvarna 257.

Reading  he was asking why the choke wont hook up etc.  More then that wrong.   :P

Guy shipping me this 257 cylinder to save for him. Going to clean up and out fresh crosshatch in it.

His local dealer told him couldnt save or be used.  Yeah right.  ;)

I had a super nice 254xp I sent up to NS after comparing it to my PP325. Threads on them both here.

Some of the parts are interchangeable on these series.  And some are not.  So you really have to be carefull if your robbing parts off one to another.

Looks like a nice example if you are collecting the series. Agree a little pricey, but sometimes if ya wanna play, ya gotta pay lol.

I think there are 4 saws in the series; 254XP, 257, 261, and 262XP. I think of the 254 as the fast limbing saw, the 257 as the "farm saw", the 261 as the "262 wanna-be", and the 262 as the top firewood saw (of it's day).

One for sale but he  wants to much IMHO. 300  clean looking though.  I missed one for 150.

They also have different anti-vibe (spring vs. rubber) and different intake/filtration setups. Also different clutches if I remember correctly.

257 open port ?

257 is open port , they have a nice wide power band ..same case as 262/261...
