Start simple. Lines, fuel filter, etc.
Could be choke not closing all the way.
Could be hardened diaphragms.
Small rubber impulse known to dry and crack and cause problems. Look at IPL for it's location.

I have a 55 Husqvarna that is hard to start when cold. Usually I have to take the air filter off and put my thumb over the air inlet on the carb then crank it a few times then it starts and runs just like a new one Any ideas. Also it does not do it all the time
