Seams I remember the 52mm piston you stuck in that 475 didn't have windows either where the original did?

Yep but it was made for a closed port quad transfer cylinder BB372

The 425 used solid OEM piston in a closed port cylinder too.

Will be doing some testing on a press in bearing race in the near future.  The plan is to run a 385xp piston and pin bearing.  The piston dimensions are identical with the exception of the skirt being 1.5mm shorter.  The intake could afford more duration anyway.

Bet it works fine.

The intake skirt on my 475 piston conversion was shorter too and I think that extra intake duration is what is making that saw run so good IMO.

Was hoping to avoid it but that may be the only option.  Plenty of machinist friends for the job but you know.....

Have a 540 I would like to get back o the road but the piston is worn way past tolerance.  A 385xp piston would be a perfect fit IE pin height but the wrist pin itself is to small.  Pin in the Homie is .5".  Any ideas on a 54mm slug to fit to this saw?
