Title: Hats or shirts
Post by: jmester on August 18, 2013, 04:03:27 pm
Just thought maybe would be neat to have some chain repair forum gear. To promote the site and have some fun with. Maybe this has already been talked about some where idk. Just got some new shirts made for my tree business that's what got me thinking on it.

I had thought about it at one time. Then I priced min batch of 20 hats and shirts made up.  This site is a free site to help others so there is no income to cover the expense unless it was right out of my pocket. I just dont have it.  :'( But I wish sometimes.  ;D

Other sites charge min $20 a month to up to $200 a month for and per sponsors etc and have a monthly income rolling in. I dont want that to happen here and want it all to be kept free so anyone can buy, sell and help others on where to buy freely etc without all the sponsor BS and having to pay a fee to be mentioned.

What do you think if you come up with a design post it up. And if enough people want them. Then have people order them and pay for them. Then have them screened. I know all to well how expensive they are. I just paid like a 1000 for 30 or so shirts. But if you would rather not that's fine too, it is your site.

Have at it  8) 8).  Just make sure to do some XXL for us fat boys.   ;D
I was just saying financially I am not able to do anything like that myself.

I do know of other sites that sale shirts to rise money to help for cost of their sites. But I just didnt want to do that either.  Even though I have bought their shirts to help them out.

If you come up with something nice I would buy it from you too. Just like I bought 2 of my brothers gun shop shirts the other day.

Thanks for the interest in doing something like this.

PS I know some of the guys here like hats too.

Shoot I don't have a clue how to do it. My wife does that stuff for us. I will try and get her to work on something.

There is a tree company in the UK that puts out several types of cool shirts out.  I bought this one because it reminded me of chainsaw repair.

Also gotem from Cailf tree service by Adam Clarke, Butch;s tree comp in Louisiana etc

Perhaps you could contact OPE manufacturers to see if they would be willing to donate some of their shirts that could be re-screened with the site logo. It would be advertising for both the OPE and the site.

DD CCC got me thinking on this. Nice shirts by the DD.

Should I put Redneck in red on top and then Chainsaw Repair Site on bottom.  or leave my moniker Redneck off shirts?

Shirts are big fun.
Mine were designed by next door neighbor, a artist type guy and one of my customers prints them up for me.
More colors equals more money at setup and each printing.
In general XXL shirts are about .50 extra and each size larger adds up as well.
If you have camera ready art (generally made on computer, for easy color separation) it is cheaper at setup.
Generally you pay the setup fee once and then they keep the screens and can make more easily forever.

Think about who will wear them and where, likely at their shops and GTGs. If you are looking to drive traffic to your site, you want the simplest, easiest to remember address for that.

Personally I dont care about traffic to the site (even though folks selling here would). But word of mouth seems to work fine.
Heck I dont even have the site marked by search engines. Refuse to jump through their dang hoops.

While making a post to DD in his store thread. I noticed my wives pumpkin carving. That pattern is already made.  Look good on a shirt?

Grrrrr hope saved on her pumpkin site. Pattern was on the puter that died this winter.

the pumpkin pattern in your avatar would be perfect, it is dramatic and fun while still working well in 2 colors, but it looks like he is running a MS180, what kind of self respecting mammal runs a baby saw like that ? :)

Wife is remaking the pattern.  Other one is on old puter HD that the puter screen died on as far as I can tell.

Told her to make 2 types. 1 with the word Redneck beside Chainsaw too.

I just seen a full color version the wife is doing and the saw looked like a husky 543xp in orange.
