So Yesterday A Buddy of mine asked me to help cut up Some Hardwood for his stove, He got about a Picker load. SO I loaded up the 562 XP, the 450 and Rancher 55. I get up there and he has a Reg 55 and a 460 Rancher, We BS for a bit and he goes on to tell me how the Cord would not retract first thing this morning on his 460 so he took it to dealer and they fixed it,he gets back tries to start it same thing. Goes back to dealer and they put whole new assembly on it, new flywheel and all.
SO There are a couple guy's there and they all really want to try out the 562 well I go to start it and after the second pull the cord would not retract and it felt odd when I pulled it. I take the cover off, the Cover broke along with the pulley and it also cut grooves in the fly wheel. Have the parts all on order and had to use other saws the rest of the day, Really wanted to give the 562 a workout.
I left with my buddy at his shop and he is getting the parts for me, Is there any Service Bulletins I should have him address on the saw? It is one of the earlier models.

All bulletins applicable to that saw where current. Can't remember which serial run came out with a recoil housing bulletin though. I'd check into it with he dealer that is getting parts.
-
Mitch, Is there a Bulletin for the Recoil Cover? This saw has been good to me just seems like the plastic get weak and broke, It did make a mess of the fly wheel.
-
Yes. The upgrade started 20122600001 The Post was strengthened. All new parts are upgraded.
-
I see your 562xp is ported, and with a pop-up, and assume it has rather high compression? ???

I do Like this saw, Things happen as long as it is not a common issue I am fine with it. SO I guess this can be a issue with this model.
-
Sawtroll mweba would know better then me.

Again as Mitch stated there was a upgrade with serial numbers as stated above. Just get updated part for fix.

Yes I know the part came in today, I'll get it back together and see how it goes, Should I get the updated Firm ware installed?
