Title: MS170 carburetor swap
Post by: leec on October 29, 2013, 05:26:52 pm
Hi again guys,

My ms170 has the snorkel Zama which has no adjustments, other than idle.  I'm working on it because the piston is scored.  I'm thinking of replacing the carb with one from the previous version of the 170 which does have  H&L adjustments. Do you think this will work OK?

Thanks for your feedback

Sure

My 026 has a older carb without the snorkel and it works fine. This was to have both H & L needles and I plugged the snorkel hole in the airfilter but could have put the snorkel cover on the replacement carb.

I changed the carb on my 025 to a newer model and have never had any problems with the new carb
