Title: Walbro RWJ-4 Carb Tool
Post by: KilliansRedLeo on December 17, 2013, 12:26:55 pm
In another thread someone was talking about defeating the limiters on the RWJ-4. They suggested that they cannot be defeated but the use of two screwdrivers would allow you to adjust the carb, they were right!

However they also mentioned a tool that depressed the limiter against its spring and allowed adjustment of the carb without using the two screwdriver method.

Anyone know what this tool is, looks like or have a source?

You could probably make one yourself with some K-S brass tubing (the right size) soldered around a screwdriver head so the brass tubing would push the limiter below the stop?

K-S products are sold in hobby stores such  as Hobby Lobby, Horizon Hobby, & Tower Hobbies and some hardware stores

Great idea 660Magnum, I am off to the hobby store in the AM with a RWJ-4 carb in my pocket!!! Thank you! If I could give out likes you would be getting some!

Cut4Fun, I will post some pics of the fabrication of this tool in this thread and then you can move the thread to the tools and techniques section.

OK, I was on another site with this same subject and someone brought up to just use the splined screw driver that you use on the small Huskies?

So I went out in the shop and sure enough, the splined screw driver works perfect on the RWJ carb.

The RWJ carb is used on the newest Husqvarna 372 X-Torq version.

I just use a 4" piece of 1/4" aluminum tubing to depress and stick a screw driver through the tubing to adjust.  Works perfectly.

And on the 372s that I build using BB kits and the Stihl 064 piston!

Second confirmation, the small splined tool works perfect! Thanks all!
