I bet they would make up long loops for you?

They might buy the loops pre-made.

Did not see any reels or pre-set/tie-straps listed.

They made a custom length for me. Give them a call and see what they can do for you.
Their number is on the terms and conditions page

That's good to know. A few places buy loops pre made and won't spin them for you.

Roger that,
checked everywhere but online dealers ;D

Thinking of giving these guys a shot.

Shipping from some sources is getting dear, let alone trying to get a price for rolls..

thank you

Another Canuck. Do you know if Todd Smith from MI = chain seller in link here ships across the boarder Jeff? @Playinwood

Post by: Playinwood on January 06, 2015, 01:37:52 pm
The Mi guy only does links..

I have a US mailbox so I just need shipments to NY and I retrieve stuff myself.. Funny, the brokers need 30 bucks to bring a roll of chain across and I can do it for free...

Another ,getting important, factor is we are now .85 on the dollar. If it keeps going I'll be shipping saws south   ;D
Ie a 562 is 699cdn or 630US

As for chain and files though I seem to just keep flogging everything that I get.

I never bought rolls from Baileys. Just to much.

Madsen's beat them hands down.

Even Amick's another place I have dealt with is $279.99 plus  fedex $19.72 so no real sale at baileys JMO.    http://www.amickssuperstore.com/default.asp

Another FRAWLEYS SAW SHOP   http://www.loggerchain.com/  shipped same cost no sale price

Todd shut down the website when it was due for updating and paying up.

So let start a list here where to buy chain loops, bulk etc.  Todd was my go to for loops.

It ain't sexy, but if you live in the midwest, and use 'consumer' chains, Menard's usually has the best prices on pre-made Oregon loops.  I get that some guys want 'pro' chains, etc.  But I don't mind the reduced kickback chains, and prefer it on my smaller saws. I don't use enough chain to justify buying it in bulk

I was looking for some 78DL loops of .325 pitch narrow kerf chain (Oregon 95VP, Husqvarna H30, etc.).  If I buy it in the consumer marked, clamshell packages as 'G78' at Menard's, it is HALF the price that Home Depot, Northern Tool, and other retailers charge.  Lowes does not carry this size loop: Menard's is still priced at about 60% of their closest (80DL) sized loop. They also have 'ship-to-store' options for some loop sizes not stocked locally.

Sometimes it goes on sale for another 11% to 15% off, if you are patient.  Cheap enough that I have thought about buying some loops and re-spinning them to the size I needed.

I have oregon chain too just not the good deals on the 72DL and rolls. $0.225 DL
I have not had time to get Oregon listed on the site and with my cheap website plan it is hard to set up shipping cost that make sense for heavy items.

Do you carry Oregon 91VXL or their .404 pitch chains?

91 vxl yes.  the only thing i carry is .404 .080 for harvester bars but i need to order a roll of .404 skip. just havent found a deal on it yet. .404 is gold plated to oregon and Carlton doesnt have skip.

.404 Skip chisel and semi chisel is what I use for the most part.  Oregon 27AX and 68JGX IIRC.  Deals can be had on it by shopping around, but most of the local shops treat it like it's gold (if they even carry it).  Not much call for .404 anymore....

It's good to have a source that is there when needed.

That said, I have had some good luck on eBay recently. Often see used STIHL chains going for almost as much as new, locally, once you include shipping. Got some new 95VP loops for $6 and $7 each, and some 'once-used' loops for $3 each, with shipping. Was the only bidder on these. Then, tonight at Sears, found several 90VP and VG loops in a clearance bin for $1.74 each.

Fun to win now and then.

LOL Now I owe you a 36 and 2 24 and a 32 mounted pic.    I had to make a chain for the other 24" bar. Being I only ordered 1 full comp 81DL from Nate and I had a 91DL full skip here. So I made it a 81DL too.
