Have all the OEM parts to build a 362XP (47mm bore) in a box somewhere. IIRC they were not outstanding performers out of the box. I remember reading a thread someplace that said when ported they scream. So was wondering what others thought.
I would have to build the thing up from bare cases, but do not want to do so unless there is something worthwhile to be gained.

I liked the 362xp I built stock from bare cases. Would take 362xp over a 262xp stock.

Very good info in that thread. Makes me want to go digging for the box of parts I have. All of the stuff needed to build the saw is NOS OEM. I even have the small mount clutch cover! I don't remember what carb came stock on that saw, so I don't know if I was planning to use a 365SP carb or what. I think I even have a spare 47mm C/P for it. IIRC it took me about 2 years to collect the parts but by the time I got all the stuff together I had sort of lost interest.
Did any of you folks port the 362? If you did what kind of results did you get and what did you actually do?

Mine has the Zama carb

362 is a quick saw. Great acceleration. Unlike the quad port 365 and 372 jugs, the 362 cylinder has a single port on each side. The ports have a nice hook to them, as they are tuned to the saws performance target characteristics. Regardless of what the specs may or may not say, you definitely will notice the lighter weight of the 362 or 2163. It's even obvious on my 2163WH with the additional heating components. Sounds like you've got a worthwhile project there!

Thank you Spike60! It appears that the Jonsered 2063 and 362 both used the HD-6 carb when introduced. Is that correct? Also I cannot seem to find an outer felling dog for the 2063 or 362. Did they ever make one?
I have seen a few HD-6 carbs come up on feebay and was wondering if I should use an HD-6 or a newer version.

Not sure what carb they were introduced with. But they eventually used the same carb as the 372/2171. You're right about no outside dogs being offered on these saws. The bar studs are closer together than on the large mount saws, so a 372 dog obviously isn't going to help us out there.

I saw a picture somewhere with a set of 357 dawgs on one? The outer was a bolt-on but the inner was changed.
