Bing 49 carb info http://www.bingpower.de/download/datenblaetter/type49e.pdf
Also bing company info https://bingcarburetor.com/index.html

Anyone got a US source for Bing carbs and kits?
-
Try Oregon 49-868 search. Treestuff.com had the 038 stihl Bing kits
-
If I recall one kit is just the soft parts and one the complete kit .I just get the basic .For a long while you couldn't find the things anywhere but a Stihl dealer with of course Stihl prices which as we know kinda suck .
-
Good carbs. Seems like there's more in the way of kits out there. ..

No I do not. I'm not going to take mine apart and look. LOL. It does say 49B so I assumed it would work.

Good deal for you stihl 064 bing carb lovers.
Nice info SF ;)

Jacob J. says the kits above SF posted work also and the needle can be sourced through. Mfg. Supply.
Also OEM needle 11101215100 and it's still available from Stihl per BigT 1110 121 5100

I still have a brand new Bing for an 064 and 4 new factory carb kits too. As a Stihl mechanic, there was a time when Stihl was sending the Bing carb on one model Stihl-Half wrap handlebar, and the full wrap version 064 got the standard Walbro WJ. The Bing was a much better running carb with excellent machining.I used this carb, bored and modified circuits for many competition saws and they are great.
The real trick with Bing carbs and the 038 versions too was they had a plastic metering lever that you could not bend to set proper height. This is done by placing a punch(That is close to the size of the hole)and gently tapping the seat slightly in the right direction to attain proper lever height,it's easy, usually one light tap does it!
I would love to have more of those Bing carbs if someone has spares please let me know...
-
Interesting. So the seat is pressed in and can be moved with a drift/punch to adjust metering lever height?
-
Yes,that is how you do it. they are great carbs on both models, very trouble free.
-
That's cool. Had one on a 056 Magnum, always worked well.

Welcome
Send whatever you have in pic and I'll post it.
It's easier to use outside host for posting pics. Like Photobucket and free or use embedding host here but needs to be 399KB or smaller pics. I pay for the space used is why it is kept smaller.

The Bing carb was tested on some 064 models for a short time,I was mechanic at a Stihl shop at the time.T he Bing had excellent workmanship and finish and ran much better than the WJ especially on performance or race saws,I collected and hoarded all the Bings I could find, and I finally sold the last new one overseas along with 3 original Stihl carb kits. I stihl have 1 new Bing kit left.
If you can find a used Bing and kits for it I would treasure that carb for my best saw.
