say a guy had a .050 gauge hard nosed bar. Could he run both .325 pitch .050 gauge and 3/8 pitch .050 gauge chain on the bar? I understand you'd have to have the appropiate sprocket on the saw.

my buddy has a whole case of new 20" cub cadet bars that are branded .325 .050.looks like they would fit my dolmar. i just found out they are sprocket nose tho.I'd have to get new chain and drive sprocket. I run 3/8 .050 sprocket nose on everything I own. The sprocket on my 20" stihl branded bar started hanging up the other day. I researched it the other day stihl claims the bearings are so well sealed they don't require grease. I suppose thats why the don't have a grease hole.

I think that the Club Cadet bars fit small mount Husqvarna saws? At least the one I bought was. Not likely to fit on a STIHL.
If you remove the sprocket from an old STIHL bar, you will see that they have a very thin piece of shim stock on either side of it, so even if you drilled a hole, the grease would not get to the bearings. Bar oil seeps in and lubricates them. If they are clogged with sawdust, you can still try to clean them with compressed air.
In a nothing-to-lose situation, you can drive out the rivets and disassemble even a non-replaceable nose sprocket (but do it on a towel - the bearings want to run everywhere!). Reassemble on a 3x5 card and carefully slide the assembly back into place. I did this once to remove some string that it ate. I used some hardware store rivets to reinstall - Bailey's sells some OEM ones.
Attached is an old photograph from some type of bar (I forget which brand). Note that the teeth on the sprocket wear, as well as the bearings. They are supposed to hold the chain 1/32 or so away from the bar nose rails.

Duck your dolmar 7300 is large mount husky and betting the 20" 325 cub cadet bars are small husky mount K095.

Which dolmar? a CC bar or 455 bar shouldnt fit a dolmar 7300.

hmm.. I don't have either saw with me at the moment but i coulda swore i tried the bar on both. I'll have to check again.

You are correct the bar doesn't fit my Dolmar 7300.The slot is just a smudge too small.I could probably have it milled enough to fit. It does fit the husky 455. The bar reads Cub Cadet GG,.325,78 DL,.050 Gauge, 796 00008
