I broke mine.Its the top spring that screws into the cylinder. I have the old one off but the new has the aluminum thingamabobbers screwed into the spring already.I'm scratchin my head.

IIRC a new spring has the screw already installed inside the spring. A T27 reaches through the spring to tighten the spring to the cylinder head.
I have a couple 7900's I have worked on but I also have 372's and 365's which are somewhat like them and I get them confused

Somewhere around 2009 they started putting a travel limiter cup on the top spring that limits how far you can flex the top spring. You can put this cup on older saws.

back in biniss!!!! i compared it to a newer 6400 on the shelf today and yes the newer one has a lil diff setup.
