Post by: KilliansRedLeo on March 03, 2014, 09:05:10 am
Anybody been able to come up with a part number for the XT transfer port cover o-ring seals?

The cover or the seals are not available separately, You have to buy the complete cylinder and piston assembly to get them.

Are they actual o rings?  Could you make our own?

Hey Adam! Well not exactly, they are circular in cross section like an o-ring but they are shaped sort of like a parallelogram and are different for each side and they appear to be molded in that shape as they retain the shape after being removed. They fit between the cylinder and the TP covers into a half round groove in the cylinder and a matching one in the TP cover itself.

About the only way to get them is to buy a trashed X-torq jug, if the seller leaves them on, but most strip them off.

O ring kits that include bulk o ring stock, glue (super glue) and sealer might be the way to go?  I've been making my own for years, saves me a lot of time. Kits are kinda pricey, you can buy the stock cheaply, cut to size and use super glue.

The people that have been removing the transfer covers have not had trouble removing the molded seals and have used the anaerobic sealer along with the old seal at replacement of the transfer cover.

Good thoughts both, o-ring kit and yamabond!

I've used regular O-rings on Solo 603 jugs and also Husky 350's, just bend to fit and add some PermaTex lol
