Title: no start 023

hi just refurbished an 023 sthil,new engine carb,ignition flywheel ect,the works,,put in some easy start and she fired then flooded,same thing the next few times i tried,carb set to 1l&1h ,checked for spark,ok blueand strong correct mix in tank,i,m stumped anyone any ideas??????

The metering valve in the regulator side of your carb is being held open.

where exatly is the metering valve,do you mean the diaphragm

The diaphragm is holding the needle and seat open

There are two diaphragms, the metering valve diaphragm and the pump diaphragm

The pump diaphragm mounts directly against the carb body, then the gasket, then the pump cover.

The metering valve, the gasket goes against the carb body, then the diaphragm, then the cover

hi,thanks for your input,cleaned and changed carb and needle valve and diaphragm,still hunting on start up,then I found leaking muffler,pretty bad,renewed and it is going like a dream,many thanks :
