Title: Poulan small Rollernose bar
Post by: Cut4fun on June 22, 2014, 12:21:04 pm
Poulan small rollernose bar.

Aaron I just got to save that stuff you posted from bay.  I think that would make a badazz set up. 3/8 PS on a roller nose bar top handle 38cc poulan.

Can you say bumblebee class we used to race.  40cc under top handles only.

I have not seen a small roller nose for the top handle saws before.
I probably did not pay attention.

I've got a Partner bar and an Oregon bar ( K095 I'm pretty sure)that size both have a 2" roller nose.  My guess is that is whats on that bar.

I forgot all about that small mount pioneer bar you turned me onto Shep.  I ended up making it work on 346 K095 mount with 60dl.

Maybe it could  have been made to work on the little poulans too.  I sort of fill it would be alittle big for the A041. But not having it in hand I wouldnt be able to tell anymore.

I dont think I ever did measure dia of nose though.

1st pic as Shep found it.

That Oregon bar is an A086 it's pretty narrow in the tail, has oil hole like A095 K095.

IIRC that bar does have a 2" roller.  I need to renew my efforts to obtain the NOS example of these from a certain friend in Virginia.  It would indeed be the cat's azz on a S25-CVA.  I'm having one of mine ported by Randy Evans in September.  That'd be the saw I'd put that bar on.

I have a 12" RN on a Montgomery Wards PowerKraft 2.8 branded Remington SL-9.  Now that's a little RN.  P/C are roached.  May have a line on an NOS set to get that saw back up and running.  If I do I'll probably try to run 63PS on it in place of the 'regular' 3/8" pitch chain that's on it now.

I have a couple of these bars off of Pioneers as well.  IIRC they are 16", 18", and 22" or so.  The 22" bar just came to me on a Pioneer 11-60.  It's got surface rust, but the roller is free and it'll clean up fine.

First roller noses I've ever seen or even heard about this small .I have a couple sprocket noses for the S-25 and one hard nose my first model came with .On the hard nose I've lost count of how many chains I've been through and how many times I've dressed the bar .Both saw and that bar are still fine .This is on a saw that was made mid 1970's .--and some people try and say all Pouian ever made was inferior --Ha.

I have to agree those small roller nose bars are pretty cool.   Can't say I have ever seen one that small either.
