I cut open a cat muffler to gut it out. The cutting open was no problem with a cutoff disc on a die grinder, the problem was the 2 tubes for the muffler mounting screws, I ended up cutting the tubes with a hacksaw. I cut out the cat baffle and the exhaust tube that was in there, but now I'm not sure how to deal with the 2 tubes for the mount screws? I have a feeling I should not have cut those 2 tubes?

They will have to be replaced.
Select some brake line the right size from the auto parts?

I removed the inside tube top and cut off from baffle area going in from back side and then drilled through the baffle in several places. Left the muffler whole never apart. Worked fine for a stocker.
