I had seen that one and was wondering who was going to collect it. I'm guessing poulan 31 by the number on the side, otherwise I have no clue.

Very nice.

You better wear your ear muffs!

+1, Jim! I noticed that, exhaust only has a screen to keep the critters out! No provision for a muffler at all as far as I can see!

Pretty neat old saw.   When you get it and have done some cutting let me know what you think.

I heard those old Poulans at the GTGs. Those old open exhaust Mac and Poulans are sometimes really loud.

Dexter Day picked it up for me and ran it a little. Ported 362CM blew its doors off! LOL! Like 3 times faster! The seller did not know if it used 7/16 or .404 chain but whatever it was was duller than a butter knife. The saw name plate says 16:1 so I guess some chain work is in order or a new chain, if it is 404.

Got to figure out what modern oil ratio to run it on, just can't believe that it would need 16:1 with modern oil. Acres site says 6500 RPM max. So some messing about will be required!

I would say the old Poulan runs pretty good.

It arrived yesterday late in the mail. Nice old saw. I'll get some pics up soon. It has .404 on it now and the tygon lines are going south so new black rubber lines before run time. Says 16:1 mix on the tag but I'm thinking 20:1 with H1R. Acres says max rpm 6500.

What are your thoughts on mix?

32/1 or even 40/1 would be fine with todays oil. Remember the 16/1 and 25/1 numbers from those old saws is when mixed with 30w engine oil.

I would go 32-1 for the mix.

Cool, I'm going to go 32:1 with H1R, that is my standard mix so no getting another can just for this saw.

Agree on the 32:1.  32:1  is what I run in my Poulan 16:1 for ex 4200.

I run 32-1 in everything I have.   Poulan 5200, 4200, 306A, 505, 445, 475, 4000, 3700.
The 306A, 3700, and 4000 are the roller bearings not ball type bearings.   I am cranking the 3700 at 13000 rpm.
