Title: OLD Echo
Post by: rusted bolts on October 05, 2014, 04:27:19 pm
New here, Looking for Cushion mounts,  Fuel lines,  Fuel filter,  Intake adaptor for a CS-5500P. ser# 015492 Can I still get parts for this saw? Hope so, It was running great. Also about what model year is this Saw? I brought it at a auction 10 or 15 years ago for $50.00 so it doesn't owe Me anything. If I can get the parts I believe it would last Me the rest of My days Thanks rusted. ???

 says came out in 1988?  Parts can still be had online or dealer IMO.

Thanks cuts4fun. Really like this old Echo, is kind of heavy though. I see a lot about opening up the muffler on these saws, May try that after/ if I can get the parts I need. What part of Ohio are you from I live in North Western Pa. Got the Echo At Rogers auctions In Rogers Ohio. Thanks for the info:)

Parts Catalog for the Echo cs-5500;
http://www.echo-usa.com/documentation.aspx?s=cs-5500&c=en-us
Intake adapter part number 13051032430;
http://www.ereplacementparts.com/adaptorintake-p-529155.html

You should be able to get the intake adapter at one of the local dealers.  Probably should go through the fuel system too.  New lines and a new filter.  New carb diaphragms and a new air filter.

I switched my 5500 over to 3/8 chain (new rim) with an 18 inch bar and it does quite well.  Add another outlet to the side plate on the muffler and ditch the screen!

sharkey is the 5500 built on the same crankcase as 5000? I like the 4500 4600 5000  saws.

Damm!! 54.8 cc,!! 12.1 lbs!! Thought it cut GOOD. Don't know why I thought it was heavy, Must be My 60 year old arms are getting weak. Was thinking last night bout Chainsaws and Dad. He had his own sawmill fer bout 30 years, He could remember the two man saws, he used to buy yellow one that start Mc. Then Homilies, Last saw he brought was a Jonesred 49. Poor guy must of been in high heaven with that there Jonesred . lol. He Run that Jones for 10 years every day in the woods Was the last saw He ever needed to buy, Then I used another 10 years cutting firewood, Sold it to My Brother, It blew up in 2 weeks.
