So if a 272XP and a 288XP have the same carb, does that mean that my 272XP is getting as much gas a the 288XP?
Or am I overthinking this?
-
Over thinking things.
-
There's not as much air traveling through the 272 carb
-
I tend to over think EVERYTHING..
-
They're the same basic model (Tillotson HS)..............but definitely not the same carb.

Correct. Throttle linkage is different for one.

Yep! Throttle linkage is totally different on 288.
Shep
-
Same model, but not same carb?
-
Same series but different model number?
-
They are the HS Series.
272 = HS254A and HS254B
HS260A
288= HS228A and HS228B
I'm sure there are others.
-
Thanks for the info :)
I used the same carb kit for both..
-
RK-23HS is the correct kit for both. The individual carbs can have different throttle arm setups, different choke setups, different throttle bore and venturi measurments, different metering orifices inside the carbs, different metering lever springs, different HS check valves, etc.....

These carbs 260 and 228 I looked up are 17.5mm venturi
