Title: stihl 038 super piston
Post by: raumato01 on February 27, 2015, 10:16:19 pm
Gday all , first post here. I scored a Stihl 038 super and the piston is now only good as an ashtray, theres a German firm on ebay called Saegenspezi selling them . Has anyone had any experience with their parts? standard avs and magnums are relatively common, the super seems a harder beast to find parts for.

Never heard of that one or done any business.  Can't help you on that one.  Check your Stihl Dealer Stihl has had a drastic price reduction on pistons.

I'll give that a go,I'm in New Zealand though and I'm not sure they are offering those discounts here.

Pistons for the super are NLA. I bought a AM one but I do not know how long it will hold up. I also had to make clearance for the rod. It was not machined for it. Here is a link for what I bought.
