Title: Stihl MS 360 carb removal
Post by: ears54 on August 13, 2015, 05:38:00 pm
I am trying to remove the carb to check/clean/rebuild but the top of the handle on the saw prevents getting past the mount studs. It appears that this piece just pops up and I can get it about half way off, but then it seems like too much pressure is required to complete the removal. I don't want to force things and possibly break the piece. I don't have a repair manual so I have nothing to reference. Can anyone verify that the piece will just pop off? Might there be a trick I am unaware of?

Thanks

Did you remove the black piece of plastic on top of the handle. Single screw underneath the handle to remove.

You can remove the left rear anti-vibe (rubber mount),screw to lift the saw body up from the tank/handle for more clearance...

Should have been clearer. The black piece is what I am trying to get off. Once that is off I believe the carb will clear the studs.

Cut4fun you are the bomb. Thanks for the IPL.

I found that screw shortly after my last post after reading aclarke's replies. Feel like a DA.

Thanks again to both you guys. That helped alot.
