On the left is aftermarket stihl fuel line. On the right is oem stihl fuel line.
The aftermarket one after installed would kink right behind the carb on the turn. After wasting my time trouble shooting this was the cause for not pulling mix to carb. grrr
I could feel a weak spot in the line as it was marked in silver. After seeing the line was worthless to me I went ahead and cut both afm and oem lines to have a look see.
Notice the difference in wall thickness for one. Notice how the defective afm line was much thinner wall thickness and off centered. You wouldnt notice this till you cut off the thick part that carb nipple goes into.

Thin side is where the silver mark is and where it was kinking. I cut both ends off to show pics above behind the thick area.

I've had the same issue with non branded fuel lines ordered online. I've not had any problems with the Oregon brand aftermarket fuel lines so far.

Would have never thought that this would be the case.
Now I am happy that I have never grabbed anything AM for fuel lines.
Admittedly though, I was just about to grab some AM fuel lines for 066/660's ............... looks like you saved me some agg !!

The problem with aftermarket Chinese items is often no quality control. Six months from now aftermarket fuel line for a MS-390 from the same company may be perfect or even from a different Chinese supplier? Then again, there may be a different problem?
The Stihl OEM line may be sourced outside the company too but Stihl sets the specifications & demands the quality or they seek another source.

On the 1127 series saws, about 50% of the aftermarket lines I've tried kink in the same manner experienced in this post. I usually do not replace the lines on these saws unless they test bad or are hard/stiff.
