any major difference from poulan 5020 got 3 in a truckload buy all look new 2 running strong . other on had big gorilla gt hold of pull start.
-
They are the same.
-
do they have chrome cylinder. are most folks happy with this saw
-
Yes they have the chrome plated cylinder. They do ok for a 50cc saw. I am used to running saws that are up around 60cc or more so I am not used to it, but I have two of them myself. One is completely stock and the other I tried to port and messed it all up. I have a new cylinder that I bought for it but have not ported and put it on yet.

i had been wanting one a long time. finally found a deal

I think that will make a good firewood saw. I believe that a 20" bar is probably to long but I think a 20" bar is to long for any 50cc saw. I do know from past reviews of other people that opening the muffler up some did help in out put power of the saw.

got 5 saws 10 weedeaters 10 blowers none of craftsman blowers have spark
-
is there a recoil spool available without the spring assist.
-
Not that I know of. Look at 5020 4818 poulan
-
kinda good idea but one good pull from a big ape with chainbrake on destroys assist spring
-
Before replacing any of the coils make sure none of the kill switch wires are grounded out somewhere.
-
thanks gotta get a cheap spark tester getting to blind to see
-
could there be a husqvarna recoil spool that would replace this easy break spool. I have no husqvarna parts on hand. all poulan lists is same one.
-
The only replacements I know of are OEM. Take one apart and see if you can modify one to work better.
I have had no problems with the 5020's that I have and I can still pull pretty good when I need to.
-
yes only $7.77 shipped on ebay for all 3 parts. you are right on about those blower coils sometimes spark sometimes don't . learned new lesson about muffler today if it blows off don't grab it ;D it's hot
-
That is not good when your muffler blows off, and you are right they get pretty darn hot.

pulled a good starter cranked the craftsman 50 cc without a starter it ran great. cleaned up other 2 think they are ready to sell. someone had put side cover on one cockeyed made it act like chainbrake was on when off . raised brake band back up to proper higth it worked right again.
