I got it this way from Lowes. I should have taken it back immediately. When i push the choke button up to start it - the choke button won't stay there. I have to duct tape the button up to start it then release the taped button when it's ready to start. Really annoying.

You are supposed to pull the choke tab out and lift the on/off button up and the button is supposed to stay up. I went to Lowes on my lunch break today. They had 2 models similar to mine on display. On one of them the choke button worked as designed. the other one was defective, identical to mine. So, what do you figure the solution is? Replace all the parts in the choke/on off assembly?

Thats what I was trying to show. Pull choke out and it should lift on/off switch up.
IMO if new under warrenty let them worry about. Or open it up and see what is not hooked up right. Look at IPL

I got a poulan 4218 in today. Since yours is made by poulan and in same cc class. If you need pics to compare the choke and on/off switch set up let me know.
Just guessing. They look the same as in IPL pics.
