ECHO Launches Lightest Top-Handle Chain Saw in North America
Chicago, IL (9/7/2017) -
ECHO Incorporated is excited to introduce the feature laden CS-2511T top-handle chain saw - the lightest gas-powered chain saw in North America and the most powerful in its class.
The ECHO CS-2511T is ideal for the professional arborist looking to increase maneuverability and productivity. Its features make it superior to the rest in many categories, such as weight, size, power, warranty, price and more.
Coming in at over a pound lighter than the CS-271T, its compact size also makes it over 20 percent smaller than the leading competitor. “With a lighter product, end users have less operator fatigue which equals greater efficiency. A more compact saw gives users more maneuverability around tightly woven branches,” says Joe Fahey, Vice President of Product Planning.
One of the more innovative features is the top-mounted bar oiler. The bar oiler is located on the top of the chain saw, as opposed to the bottom, which allows for easy-access by the operator. This also prevents the oiler adjustment screw from getting clogged with wood chips and debris. The bar oiler is adjustable so that the operator can adjust the flow level of oil depending on working conditions and clutch-driven. Thus, the oiler only operates when the chain is moving which saves oil and prevents oil from collecting under the saw during idle.
This product starts at a low MSRP of $379.99 with a one year commercial warranty. The saw has 12 and 14 inch bar options with the 91PXL chain. According to the EPA 2017 Certification Data, the new CS-2511T is the most powerful in its class.

Researching and it seems the echo 2511 uses 3/8LP picco chain which is a plus IMO

Looks like I may of missed one at the PBS and I was right there looking at these. Maybe someone had it picked up at the time.

Info Nate or anyone?
Found some http://www.echotools.com/products/category_detail/id=8825
so when is it going to hit the usa?????
-
sorry, didnt see this before or that you tagged me.
its a tinker toy. I played with it at PBS for a few minutes. not bad for what it is but your definitely going to be paying for the size. $389 list.
They are available now. been available for a week or so....at least thats when i checked on it and the distro had some in stock. Its either really popular or Echo thinks it is a niche product because they only have 40 or so of the 14" version available. My rep said its faster than the 271/303 but i dont run them enough to say for sure.
-
sweet i want one LOL... i saw them on echos site but when i clicked on where you could buy them it did not show them.... I hope they come in soon so i can go handle one ....I dont neec it but i want it LOL.....

one kinda cool feature that just popped in my head and before i forget it again
the starter handle doubles as the tool for loosening the fuel/oil caps

Interesting. I was wondering about the big wide looking caps.
-
Looks like they can be had in either a 12 or a 14 inch bar.... my deal is not the brightest kid behind the counter.... he could not tell me gauge and pitch just i could order it for 379 with a 12 and 389 with a 14....i think it could do the 14 with a 43 gauge chain but not a 0 gauge....i swear these guys sell the stuff and have no clue.... he had never heard of it then i had him pull it up from his distributor and there it was......
-
found one.....
-
Feedback once you get some time on it. Thinking it was 050 chain. Look in thread at beginning.
-
you are right on the chain gauge so i got the 12 inch bar... will update when i get a chance to use her....
-
I also do not know if it has a cat in the muffler but i will check....it seems a lil cold natured but it may change with break in and once i remove the limiters and adjust it....once warm it spools up like my 355t seems more crisp then my 330t...but i have only started it 3 times....maybe next week i will get into it.....i will say it is light oh man its light....406 bux out the door.... more then i paid for my 355t i got it for 300 or so bux new off the bay.
-
Feel like a 1 handing winner? ;) Yeah yeah we know ;)
-

Saving your feedback on 2511 = well i have been using the cs2511t on almost just palms and wow whata great saw.... it does load up from the fibers on pygmy date palms but all saws do.... yet to do any oaks.... it flat out gets it.... i have never enjoyed a top handle as much as this one....granted its tight clutch area will mean keeping it clean a must so it will oil the bar.... but my god it has it all.... im tempted to sell my cs 330t and a few other saws and buy a 2nd one... i like it that much... 4 hours today and left or right hand no fatigue .....and it has a sweet power band.... i am very happy with this saw so far.....just an update.....
-
best 406 bux i ever spent so far....i used it to cut some 4x4s today as a saws all is so slow.... was the end not showing but im loving it....
-
guy i sold one to thinks it is a little under powered but he is used to running snelling ported stihl top handles.
sending him a 12" 3/8 .043 bar and chain to see if that makes a difference since a 1/4" pitch drum isnt available
-
well it wont compete with that or a cs 355t... but for its weight i can be way more precise....use it right or left handed....i mean i used a cs 3000 for yeas and was happy.... i thinks this out cuts that at 30 cc but being i am now 50 its a pleasure to use....anything over 4 or six inch and i would either take my time or use my bigger cs 355t....or a 201 if i had one....on palm trees its great...other then the clutch area is so tight and the fibers clog it... but i blow the area out after every use.... i dont take it apart but i blow it clean from the front and the bottom....palms are bad for clogging stuff up.....my pole saw is 23/24? cc?? I think and it blows it away....i just bought a cs 310 and this lil saw feels like it out cuts it with the lil 12 inch bar and chain even with factory chain.....I think its a very good saw for light pruning....In my Opinion....So far so good..... time will tell how it lasts.....
-
saving stubnail67 info.
I know folks read it here and the chainsaw repair fb group.
a lil more update love the saw but the airfilter not so much after some hard use it was pretty dirty no big deal.. but saw some super fine dust inside it seemed really really loose so alot of trial and error different o-rings grease i settled on an o-ring around the carb intake ring i will call it... and to me it seems tight next clean up will tell the story.....here are some pics....
it was a b-word to compress it but i think hope it works....if not back to the drawing board
pics
-
thanks i was going to try to copy paste it in here ... but i have a hard time posting more then one pic... i had many more pics of what i feel did not work... i think/hope this will be a good fix i will update on both sites after i put in a nasty environment again...i have not even modded it in any way yet.... i think it needs the low tuned out a lil... i know it does just a tad...it warms up pretty fast.... i need to check the plug see what color she is also....other then the airfilter i am real happy with it....like i said i like it so much i may sell a few and buy a 2nd one... although im not doing tree work like i used to.... I used to always have 2 of everything....
-
new Gb bar and chain combo came in today....

got a 1/4" clutch drum and ordering the 1/4" bar and chain on my next order. will see how it performs when equipped the same as a 150 stihl.

I find the 1/4 micro stuff very easy to file with the 3.2mm file myself. Is super smooth and the climbers like it for pruning. I had my doubts but like it now for my uses.
I really really like PS PS3 though. But can live with this 1/4" micro

My dealer wants to look at my saw ... he forwarded the pics to echo.... i dam sure am not going to pay him....saw is fine not my fault the air filter sucks in fines.....I dont leave my saws with any one...they can check it out... I told the dude i was not looking for warranty issues....I have worked on my own stuff for 20 plus years now....I dont see how they will help me .... Im not Homer Simpson.... I mean its nice they care.... maybe echo wants to know???? ask mitch if his sucks in fines after a few hours of cutting.....thank you.
-
I'll try to reacquaint myself with embeding here. Happy with the performance and build on this little guy so far. I greased the base and have no leakage

You just run a bead of white lithium grease around where the air filter mates to the carb?that was my first idea then i changed my mind went with an o-RING that made no difference at all...think i will try the grease again as i never gave it a go.. I changed my mind before trying it out.....hmmm Maybe Mitch is going to mod the muffler and let us have a peek inside....I cant even find out how much a spare muffler is.... i think you could dremal the tack welds and pop it apart... but i dont weld so not sure how ya would put it back together....my clutch are was so full of gunk after the last palm job... next time i will take some pics..... the cs 355t seem to shoot stuff out better... its pretty tight in the clutch cover area on the cs 2511t.....I look forward to more people using them and figuring out fixes to the problems....still have not made it to my dealer to take the saw to him... i checked my piston and its fine... guess echo wants him to check it out... as they said it was to much stuff inside the filter halves.... witch i agree....
-
got a 1/4" clutch drum and ordering the 1/4" bar and chain on my next order. will see how it performs when equipped the same as a 150 stihl.
nice video... im subscribed to mweba youtube thats mitch yes? if so i will watch for new videos
-
You can braze the muffler back together with a torch and silver solder wire.
-
I haven't made a public video in a couple years just dozens of unlisted quick ones to help people out. Got burned out and busy with kids.
Stock saw.

Cat bypassed.
https://youtu.be/I5KFyV2Wg5g
-
Muffler has an internal splitter directing gasses into a cat. You can easily bypass the cat. I'll upload the images to a host tomorrow
-
That would be awesome
!!!
-
that sounded good....you have a 14 inch bar on it?
-
Mitch pics from chainsaw repair group. Saved some for here from thread.
-
echo 355t 2511t from climbers pics in group.
-
Nice work with that little Echo. With that flat cylinder base lots more power making milling that base and finish off with port work.
With that all done I wouldn't bother with the little 71PM .250 chain. Just run regular .250
-
Or try 63PS chain. ;)
-
Looks like Echo made some running changes. Little transfer filler.

Little exhaust port decomp action. Cylinder quality is top notch.
Full tear down, minus the top handle controls could be done in fifteen minutes. Fuel lines are accessed through a panel on top in 30 seconds. Muffler is a plastic cover and three mount screws away. Carb is two bolts that fasten to embedded metal with only the throttle cable and purge line to unhook. Possibly one of the easiest saws I've worked on in awhile.....ALL T27...

Mitch what did one set you back? I have guys that want my 150 if I sell it in the group.
Never know what I could end up doing. :P

so its sucking all the palm fines in through the fly wheel instead of clean air....why it stays cleaner cutting normal branches....Sooooo when we going to see the cat muffler bypass?
-
I don't know where his fines are coming from.
There are two layers of SS under the bottom deflector. Drill threw both to bypass cat. I already welded it since this test deflector was screwed on so can't really see much now.

my fines are getting in the air filter... I will try the grease trick.
-
more...
-
next
-
the last one is inside the filter... i do think the grease will help.... unfortunately echo is asking me to bring my saw to my dealer so they can try to figure it out... i it pulls stuff in when you shave a palm close to recoil cover mine was covered in chit....i am thinking/hoping the grease will keep fines out of the inside of the air filter....
-
to tell the truth i dont need to mod the muffler it cuts great with a 12 inch bar and chain.... if i can keep my air filter clean inside.... im not worried about the pout side i will be forever happy....im more happy it fires up with a minimal pull up in the tree.... would be nice to see the inside of that muffler.....but at this point im really only concerned long term keeping that air filter clean on the inside.... nice work you do.....

Looks like it worked ... I dont see anything inside that carb opening....how did the inside fare?Im betting it was clean... i could tell it was around that base is where it was sucking it in....I will be greasing mine tonight...i actually did it then thought an o-ring would be better... Live and learn... Good tip Thanks....
