Post by: Cut4fun on March 24, 2020, 08:22:03 am
Matthew been busy doing some o-ring research.   The material for the o rings is Buna n 70  ( Shawn = Not resistant to gasoline  Buna n 70) .  This will come in handy. Thanks for making video.

as a bonus, I measured the 372xp o ring that goes on the PTO bushing. its about .025" x .590" ID ... somewhere in there. I can't seem to find an o ring that is that thin stocked anywhere ... anyone more info in this direction?

as a question, the material I ordered was BUNA N ... nitrile o rings. if this is wrong material for these o rings let me know. I can't imagine it is anything else, but if someone has more info here that'd be great.

394 395 288 272 etc use an "xring" on the oiler to seal the oiler output to chassis oil inlet.

Jacks has it at about 5 bux a shot. They really are pennies a piece.

288 has an o ring that seals the oiler to the crankcase at the outer race of the bearing. Same with 272.... again...o rings are saw specific and usually husky charges 4 or 5 bux a shot when they are only pennies each from a supply house.

Annoyingly....these o rings are required to be changed when doing a rebuild yet they are not included in gasket / seal kits.

Shawn Nolder Buna-N 70. Not resistant to gasoline, but may work outside the engine. Look into Viton for gasoline resistance.
