Does mean no more gas chainsaws from Makita aka Dolmar.

Notice of the discontinuation of production of gasoline products
Ratingen, October 30, 2020 - The Makita Group will cease production of gasoline-powered products on March 31, 2022.
Makita is a global provider of a comprehensive range of tools for creating comfortable living spaces, including cordless tools, cordless garden tools and pneumatic tools.
In the gardening tool area, Makita offers a wide range of petrol-powered products, such as brush cutters and chainsaws. In order to meet the increased awareness of global environmental problems and the increasing need for comfortable wireless products, Makita has decided to optimize the development, production and sales of environmentally friendly and increasingly popular cordless devices. Makita will concentrate resources on the development, production and sales of cordless products using competencies in motor technology and battery development. At the same time, the move away from petrol tools, but instead the use of cordless cordless tools and cordless garden tools, is being promoted.Accordingly, Makita will cease production of gasoline-powered products at the entire corporate level on March 31, 2022.

What models from a collector/hobby perspective do you think are worth grabbing? Not for an investment, just to get something before they're gone. Parts aren't going to be that important. I've already got some saws like 114/119/116/120 for which parts are long gone.

Your talking their current line up right? Not the older stuff folks already collect.

I would think 7900 6100 5100S = 5105 now days
