Title: Stihl mini tiller MM 55 Yard Boss
Post by: Cut4fun . on February 23, 2012, 03:03:17 pm
Anyone got any time behind these stihls mini tiller?

I am looking to replace my  Honda FG100 mini tiller with one the lower end that dont wear the worm gears out all the time.  Love the 4 stroke Honda engine on them but they have a crap designed Hoffco lower unit.  Wore out original lower end and rebuilt it $125 and now time for another rebuild on the lower unit. Rather buy another with better lower end. But looks like the engine on the stihl may be a weak link.

So does the stihl engine and lower unit pass? Good bad ?

Can't say on the bottom ends as none of ours have come back yet. As for powerhead, keep fresh mix in them and they are as trouble free as you can get.
