minimac 25,35,110, is it all the same engine?
-
Good question .They all list three different piston numbers and three different block numbers .Which is not to say they don't interchange .Being McCulloch though you never know .
They did make slightly different engine displacements though .That much I do know .I'd have to look it up but if memory serves off the top of my head I'm thinking 2 and 2.1 cubic inch .
Now it might be such a thing the entire engine assembley could be interchanged even if the internal parts won't .

ahhhww, the funny macs. i think i will try to port one i got, just for fun.at the best it would change nothing,at the worst,it will grenade

Reminds me of 1961 and go karts. Had a old Clinton 2 stroke bushing engine that came on a Simplex chassis. Compared to the MC-20's it was worthless...
Just for fun I ported the Clinton and stuffed the piston. It ran pretty good compared with the way it originally ran for a little over two laps before the rod let go. Didn't have to worry about the Clinton any more.

You won't grenade the Mini .I have one with a pipe and can't blow it up .
-
You have a pipe on a mini mac?
We should party sometime! ;D
-
Ha ,that thing is just a toy .Fact the average Stihl 020/200T will walk away from it as will a Poulan S-25 if properly tuned .
For all I know it might be the fastest Mini Mac in the world but that really isn't saying much . ;)

to answer the thread originators question. Those model numbers are NOT the same.
I had a mini mac 35 and a mini mac 25 sitting here yesterday.
The 35 had stripped spark plug threads in the cylinder so i figured that i would use the cylinder off the 25 to fix it.
I got both of those overly complicated monsters tore down and discovered that the cylinder on the 35 is actually a little bit bigger than the 25 and that the porting in them is entirely different.
On the plus side, if you need any free or next to free Mini mac parts just let me know!!!

You'll probabley never find one that is actually "worn out " because very few of them ran long enough .You will find a lot of them with the original chains still on them that died on the vine and were banished to a shelf for the last 30 years .
Long time ago the tree timmers would buy either a mini or a Homelite super 2 and might at best get two years out of them ,more likely one season .When they died they just bought another at about 100 a pop .TSC for example and K-mart often sold them for 89.95 on sale .Fact I have 5 or 6 in various stages of non running all freebies .
As far as changing the porting scheme on a mini there's not much you can do to it other than a little to the exhaust port .Which in itsself might be a challange but they will never be a tiny little screaming cookie cutter .
On the other hand almost nobody actually buys one and being a freebie if you screw it up you aren't out a dime .
