Thanks Adam found the operators manual but no IPL or Repair manual.

Got them both, thanks Jim! Don't do these clam shell saws very often, less than one a year. Don't like messing with homeowner stuff, but the guy is a friend, so you know how that goes.

Tim the 353 isnt a clamshell. It is a 346 with a different topend.

The 353 is sort of an intermediate grade saw between a 350 and a 346XP NE

The 353 has a late model 45mm 350 cylinder and a higher compression flat top piston.

The 353 cylinder is easy to port with basic hand tools. Most of the porting work needed is at the bottom of the transfers. There are removable transfer covers that makes smoothing up the transfers easy.

The crankcase is like that of a 346XP
The cylinder is like that of the later model 350 but the piston is flat top.

With a little porting, they can run pretty good. The cylinder is easy to port for the transfer covers are removable.
