I was hoping the boot from my 625 would be able to go on the 670 cylinder. I have a 670 cylinder on the way so I guess I will find out soon enough. 272 top end requires too many parts to be worthwhile to me.

Did a little research on the Tillotson carbs that came on this series of saws. I was surprised that the 625 shared the same bore and venturi sizes as the 630 and 670. They all shared the same low speed needle as well. Where they differ is the high speed needle. The HS237/251 that came on the 625 seems to have a unique H.S. needle not shared with any other Tillotson carb. The HS230 that came on the 670 shared a H.S. needle with Husky 281. The HS250 that came on the 670 shared a H.S. needle with the 630, as well as the 266 and 272 Husky saws. The 630 came with an HS225/252/256. All this is according to the Tillotson chart and not necessarily carved in stone.

Having said all this, I have Tillotson carbs here from both the Husky281, and the 266. I am thinking the carb from a 266 would be the proper carb to use after I install the 670 cylinder.

Newbie here, so forgive me for bringing up an old thread, but the Jonsered corner of the site is very quiet. I own a 625 and 630 super II. I'm in Ireland and just curious on parts availability in the US. Is there much available from Husky dealers? Main reason I bought the 625 was as a parts donor for my 630. But it's nearly complete and I aim to get it running over the winter.

Older ones seem far and few. Finding jonsered parts for older ones is having to go used market or NOS if lucky.  GL

I remember working on these saws going back 5 years and parts were starting to get hard to find back then.   Like cut4fun said used parts are your friend if can find them.

These are some of my favorite saws and this comes up a lot. There are many Husky parts that can be used to keep them going. If you have specific questions on what you might need for the 625 I can answer them. Body parts are pretty much all gone now. Ignitions are interchangable between Husky and Jonny. Husky pistons from the 61 and 268XP will cover the 625 and 670, and the windowed 61 pistons will also work in the 630. It's the intake where things get tricky, as there are 4 basic intakes for this chassis. 61, 268 open port, and 272 top ends will all fit on the Jonnys but those intake differences need to be sorted out. And things will be tight using the 268 and 272 top ends under the early twin coil saw top covers. It can all be made to work one way or another.

Walt and I are going to do a video outlining all of this on his "afleetcommand" youtube channel fairly soon as he has gotten requests similar to what plow jockey is asking. Gotta keep these Jonnys running!

Very Good Spike.    I have not ran any my Jonsereds for quite awhile.  Especially the 670's    I need to get them out and see what is going on with them.

So I decided to get one of my 670's out today.   I tagged this saw when I put it away.   That was Oct of 2015.    The saw fired right up and I did not even have to tune the carb any.    This one I had welded up the clutch cover on from a crack at the bottom.   They sure are good strong running saws.
