I'm on a roll here. Niko will love this ;D
This pic is the earliest Jonsereds silver top I can find but Niko may find an earlier pic of a model before 1960.

Here's the 1960 Jonsereds XF 110cc silver top.

As far as I know it is true that the XF was the first silver-top.

Nope wrong Mike needs to get that edited. 80 introduced first in the early 1970s then replaced later by the 801.
I'll dig out and post info later.
The fact that Tilton replaced the 80 with the 801 doesn't necessarily mean that the production of the 80 stopped at that point - it is fairly common that "model replacements" vary between markets/distributers. I'm not saying that it didn't happen at the factory as well, just that what Tilton did doesn't prove it did.

Thanks for the attachments, I'll save them!  ;D

I believe the 24" bar I put on the 801 was a D009 mount that I opened up the slot on.   I also drilled the oil holes out a little bigger too.   It mounts good and oils good.
I ran the saw some more today and I am surprised at the power it has.   I really had no idea.

D009 is a convenient and easy to find candidate, and they don't call for the nowadays somewhat unusual (and "short" for called length) dl counts that the Homelite etc. bars does.

My impression is that the 10 mm slot of the D024 bars are somewhat "nominal", so I would measure the actual bolts before widening the slot of the bar.
Some saws that came with D024 bolts may have had them replaced by 9 mm D009 bolts as well - late production 9xx/8xx saws actually came from the factory that way, as far as I know.

Basically any bar with a mount that use a "D" tail (in the Oregon system) can be modified/adapted to work.

Very nice dutchsawdoctor . I believe that unit was manufactured right up to about 1969 if I'm not mistaken.

Replaced the other crank seal today.    I had already done the other side.    I cleaned the points while I had it apart and moved the plate the points mount to about 1/16 of an inch to give it a little more advance on the timing.   The saw starts and runs great.    The other thing to my surprise is a Mahle cylinder.   Nice.

They were good quality saws alright. You could order matched P/C in A, B or C.

As far as I know, the norm on that model is Mahle 52ZN9?

There was overlap in the 80 and 801 production....don't go necessarily by Acres. They are virtually identical saws with the same part #'s except for; the top cover, the carb elbow, the AF and AF cover. There shouldn't be any difference between the way a stock 80 runs and a stock 801.

I've had a workhorse 80 going now for 35+ yrs. I've also run some similarly tuned 801's. To the poster who thinks they ported the 801 differently or detuned it somehow, I say nay. I was loggin' in CO when a friend brought a brand new, plastic fantastic 910 to the job site. Let me use it for a day. Great saw...but glad I didn't pinch the bar and yank hard on the rear handle...lol. But the saw wasn't so great that it aced my modded muffler 80 I was using on the site. Needless to say, I didn't feel inclined to race down and buy one to increase production.

Not knocking the 910...I have one waiting to be restored. It just wasn't mind boggling better than the 80.

When I bought my 910E in late 1979 after running the older Jonsereds 621, 80,801, 90 for 6 years ....the 910 was a beast for me with a 18"-20" b/c in flat ground cut and skid tree length production in conifer.
No more points, better throttle response and WOT for limbing/topping and very light for a 87cc saw. Only my 1986 Stihl 064 was a better power to weight logging saw.
