Jonsered part ordering
« on: October 08, 2021, 10:26:00 am »
Per spike60 Bob =     Ordered some Jonny parts through the Husky dealer portal and got a notation I'd never seen before: "SR Sales Dropship Only" Turns out that Husky has begun moving the Jonsered parts inventory to SR Sales, which is a company that specializes is selling "obsolete or slow moving parts" The whole thing is still in process and parts are hit or miss as to what parts are where. Still invoiced through my Husky account, but drop shipped from SR. I have no idea yet how this affects the Jonsered/RedMax distributors, but my assumption is that this will also apply to them. These parts aren't going to be kept in 2 places.

I don't know if everything will go over there or not. So, far most of what's there are parts for the 2150/2153 and 2156/2159 families. But also some more recent stuff from the 2253 and 2260 saws. Also the remaining 2165/2171 stuff that was not shared with the 2166/2172 X-torq saws. It's all still in the process of happening, so too early to draw conclusions. My guess is that most of it heads that way, other than a few of the chain brake oriented safety parts. We're only talking the Jonsered specific parts here, of course. The plastic stuff, the handles. All the internal parts that were shared with Husky will still be easy to get.

More important than where it's going is the probability that this stuff sells out and there's no more on the way. Can't really get mad at Husky IMO. Jonsered was kind of left on their doorstep like an abandoned baby when Tilton went away. Jonsered sales dropped 90% under Tilton from about $20 million to $2 million. With mostly the same product as Husky. A similar fade took place everywhere else, so it's really a waste of time to point fingers at anyone. Sad though, ain't it? Awful lot of brands went away the last 10 years, with Dolmar/Makita soon to join them.
