Did they just paint over the yellow partner covers to use on the jonsered versions? Looks like yellow in your picture showing through or did someone repaint that one using yellow parts?

Those things have to be pretty rare; I've never seen one myself.

I'd say the Jonsered name was just another line to sell Partner through and they did the pic is worth a thousand words showing clearly the wear on the starter housing revealing the yellow paint underneath of the P100 Partner.
I am a idiot so my pics disappeared.

That was just at the time when Partner been bought up by Elux as had Jonsered and Husqvarna. For what I remember, the Partner factory was closed, the production moved to Jonsered factory and for a brief period they produced Partner designed saws in both names. Later the brand Partner became the consumer brand, making homeowner saws, mind you a bit better than the China crap of today, but a long way from the professional Partners. Now we have mowers, snowblowers, earth tillers and whatever in Partner yellow, standard warehouse stuff, not the worst, not the best.

Jonsered saws of today are mostly the same saws as Husqvarna, except for the colors, the handles and some surface design.

Hello totte!

The later consumer Partners I have seen are either made by Poulan or at the old MaC. Europe factory in Italy, not by Jonsered or Husky. The last Pro Partners (P7700 etc) were made at the Husky factory, as have most Jonsereds since at least 1990.   ;)

The very cheapest Huskys and Jonsereds have also been made at the Poulan factory since abbout 1990.

Hello old Troll  ;D !

Nice to meet you in here too!

That is correct, should have mentioned it. I actually have an Italy Partner, 4200, decent saw for being a consumer one, but has absolutely nothing to do with what Partner once was, the big strong workhorse. A bit heavy and "squarish" but lots of grunt and reliable as few. The Italy saws have also been branded McCulloch and some other brands too I believe, depending on country to be sold in.

Yep, and now Husky has bought the right to the McC. brand name on the left side of the pond as well (no factories there) - wonder what that will result in...... ;D

I have learned a bit more since posting that:

All Swedish Jonsereds chainsaw production was moved the the Partner factory in 1979.
Husky started making Jonsereds in 1982 (630 and 670) - then all production at the Partner factory (Partner and Jonsered) was moved to the Husky factory in 1987. It has remained there ever since.
