Old Crosscut
« on: November 01, 2015, 12:47:43 pm »
Finally found me a ole crosscut with big belly blade for the man cave  8).  Now to think what I want painted and get some handles for both sides.

Always wanted one, as I grew up in my parents house with a painted up country scene one between den and living room.

They were just always way out of my price range.

Hung it over bench #2. Wonder if I should just get Redneck Chainsaw Repair painted across it.

Now to find some old handles.
I have past up so many at yard sales in past.  :'(

Might be easier to find a wood turner to make you some new handles with extra nice wood.....

Called dad about handle hardware needed and he said he had a like new saw in the barn still and one from my grandpa. Plus the painted one in their den.

I need to find the whole hardware for the wooden handles. I seen all kinds on ebay but wont pay those prices. :o.

Lot of saws on bay Mike some decent priced.

Took a rough measurement and it is 6' to 6'.6"  Pic shows it between 8' barn beams.

I really need to hang my husqvarna sign over that bench IMO. I just hate getting on the ladder and stretching out to do so with those big signs.

I found one when we moved in here plus an old cant hook. I have no idea what the previous resident would have had them for with a pellet fireplace.

I know dad still uses one of grandpa's axes to split the oak for the smoker.  I need to get more info on that stuff to hand down to my son someday if need be.

I already know the gun info to pass onto him. Even gave my brother a gun to hand down to his son. Being only the first grandson from each family got to pick guns.  I ended up with 2 from that alone.
Plus 1 from dad already that was grandpa's from his 16th birthday in 1914.
