Took carb off and went through. Easy to get to lines with carb off.  Only thing I think there is deeper issues with carb. It was ran with no fuel filter and no air filter as it came in this way.

Dad gave me the back the back up one. Said he just dont use it.  Thinking of pulling the carb and choke to see if that was the problem with the other one.

These are nice little saws.  They've got quad transfers and a large carb for the displacement, and the port size and timing is good - except for the intake which has a very short duration.

I converted mine to A/V some months ago.  The muffler was opened up and the intake duration increased.  It's impressive for 32cc.

Well I thought my idea was a good one. Pull the carb and choke set up from the non-av saw my dad gave back and put on the av saw that had carb issues and missing choke parts.

Well well non-av saw ended up having throttle linkage and zama carb and the av saw had throttle cable and walbro. I said oh well to myself and started rednecking. Pulled the throttle shaft etc out of both saws as the cable one hooked on the right side and linkage one on left. Ended up having to cut part of left side so full throttle could be had where the Idle screw goes to was to big and hitting zama body.

Still haven't got it started but broke the lower left av spring and stopped.

So got got more time in the dang thing then the $20 it is worth IMO.  :-X  Will trade both for a poulan.  ;D

Got the  :P started.  Knew there was no bar oil in it when I got it so thought mise well add some and make sure she oils.   ::) Nothing yet.   :-X

I had thoughts of pouring gas and gun to see a  :o, but thought better as I know I have had to search for parts for these for others.

I'm confused - my non-A/V model had a ZAMA which had the typical leaking check valve, so I replaced it with a Walbro I got off eBay.  When I converted it to A/V, I used the Walbro carb I had on the non-A/V saw.  I don't remember having any issues.  Now I have to go look at the carb that came with the A/V chassis.

OK, I get it now - the ZAMA's only have linkage fitting on one side, but the Walbro (WT-348) has fittings on each side so it can be used with either setup.

The 3 carbs were different sizes too, with one ZAMA from a 32cc and one from a 38cc, and the Walbro from a 35cc in the middle at 28/64" (which I think is plenty for the 32cc saw I have it on).

Yep that was the catch. zama only had one side to use. When I put the walbro throttle shaft in the zama. I had to cut part of the left side for using a hard linkage so I could get throttle to work.   Throttle butterfly same size in both.
Just being cheap as I dont really want to put money in them.  Got $15 in non-av one with new drum and $10 in the av one in trade.  Did notice the av one had easy start recoil.
But like I said still havent got the bar oil to flow yet.  That just ticked me off after all the redneck goofing off I had did to then have that too.
The non-av one ran before stilling carb, but thinking it had lower psi, the av one 140psi.

I might start it again today and if I cant get bar oil to flow. Dumping it and going on the shelf pile for parting.

The 35cc has on recoil if you look says 38cc on tag. I wonder if they are really all the same cc like poulan does.
