The dolmar 166 was a great powerful saw for a stock saw, but it was not and is not as powerful or as fast cutting as a mcculloch 101b. The sp125 and dolmar 166 are hotrods in their own right but neither has the pure zing of the 101b. In fact as far as stock saws go, the special racing edition 101b mcculloch may very well be the fastest stock cutter ever.

Any of those mentioned big displacement saws is going to be powerful. The 166 to me was unbalanced .

In the day Dolmar was never a front runner probably due to lack of dealer support .McCulloch, Homelite, later Stihl .

Husqvarna tried a power play and shot themselves in the foot .Insisted the Stihl dealers only sell their product or Stihl .Pulled their franchise and refused to buy back the inventory .Closest Husky dealership from this local is 40 miles away .Good saws bad politics.
