If the rings are gummed even just a little on these newer engines you will get blow-by as they are pretty low comp anyway to allow "easy starts".....I will say though running correctly these thumpers((big bore, low comp)are like the old 500 caddy's, lots of grunt.  They will take on some tall grass! .....anywho my dixon ram44 killed 2out of 3 spindles ending last season so checked prices for new assemblies and WOW! $230 for the center& $180 for the outs! ..........did some checking and previous + newer models used a similar setup where only the spindle housing itself was different, same bearings, pulleys & shafts so,.......found oregon made aftermarket replacements for this other, bought all 3 new for less than $180 delivered, made mounting plates to adapt new spindles to old deck and mowing like a champ with 3new spindles and about 400bucksyou less!
Trapped in time, surrounded by evil, low on gas
