I made a couple cuts with one of those 5000+ saws a couple weeks ago. It is a very respectable saw that will stand up to most current saws its displacement. I liked it.

Well I guess I did not realize tha I had such a rare commodity here ,Maybe I should go on antiques road show and get me a million.Or maybe I could go a couple of miles down the road and buy a new on from an old partner dealer I have been dealing with.He did not seem to suggest to me it was gonna be a real expencive deal.Coure he may think that I know this is a 100 dollar item? He did not seem to get too nervous when i mentioned I made need a new pistion said he thought he had a bunch still on the partner shelf outback.

If he has 5000 plus pistons like I posted in pics. BUY THEM ALL...................................

They are NLA only NOS left like you say your dealer has on hand. Buy  :P  buy now.

I installed a new piston ,ring , I had to grind out the interior boss's of the piston so it would fit onto the conecting rod.I ordered three of them from e-bay they are "Golf Piston kits"

Sounds like you went with AFM 246 pistons  Jeff ;D.

Why if your dealer has all of that NOS stock 5000 pistons. Get me phone number please and I will call him myself.

Well it is Huff forest products in Pittsfield me but he thought he could get 5000 pistons but evedently I has been awhile for him because he also cannot get any pistons so i did use husky 246 golf pistons and the boss's will  have to be ground ,...a lot like at least 1/8 inch on each side but i did one today and it runs good. I got mine on e-bay 30.00 each ,"but you will get no needle bearings for the top of the connectng rod"

Yep Art was the first one I know of to use the 246 piston. You can thank him for letting that info out to the masses. old iron logging = Art

in other words he figured it out and passed  the info onto others to use.  ::) ::)
