Just learning on these as we go. So correct me if I get something wrong.

In my past post here I stated 550 was 44mm bore and 36mm stroke.

I found a used partner P65 P+C on feebay that says 48mm bore. Closed port.

I would swear from looking at pics of the aftermarket ones I am seeing both closed and open port ones offered in these here. PARTNER K650 K700 650 700 says 50mm.

partner p70 7000 50mm too?

Kevin, you got a pretty good eye for these, you'll have to point me to one of the closed port 50mm.  I was hoping someone would chime in with one they picked up that was good or to stay away from.

I know very little on these saws.

You wanting used oem 50mm or aftermarket 50mm.
That used 48mm closed port looked nice too and 4mm bigger bore then 44mm on it.

Does not have to be new, seems like earlier in this thread a guy mentioned the k650 jug had bigger ports, I really no nothing on these.  used 50mm would be good to, I agree, I am eyeing up that used 48mm, I believe he said that p65 jug was as fast as his 70?  I need to go back & look into what all was said exactly, I prolly got some of it wrong.  Just trying to find out if any of the aftermarket k650 are worth a hoot or not.  Any input is appreciated!

I know where a oem p70 and 7000 topend is. Look in the for sale thread.

As far as I know they are, and 70.7cc (like a lot of other 70cc saws).

What I don't understand is the small difference in specified power output between the 65 (excluding the F and S open port ones) and 70cc saws (P70 and P7000) - and then the much larger one between the P7000 and the P7000+. ?

To the member that took the 550 on trade.  If you are going to get into this series of saws you might want to take Shep on this NOS crankshaft for $15 shipped.  http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/partner/partner-crankshaft-505-3008-60/

Btw, the S65 and F65 were rated at a little less power than the earlier 65cc Pro Partners, like the R20 and R420 - 3.8 hp vs. 4.0 hp.

I believe the difference was caused by open vs. closed porting.....

I am wondering why this shows R16 chassis on the partner f65 instead of what you have above. I dont know the older R partners and barely the F and S etc  http://www.acresinternet.com/cscc.nsf/ed1d619968136da688256af40002b8f7/37310f5b39cba58688256afd004eac0f?OpenDocument
