Partner P85
« on: November 05, 2014, 10:00:58 pm »
this is a question for a friend of mine he is working on a p85? and the measurements he is coning up with are 52mm bore and 37mm stroke that does not add up to 85 cc  looked at Acres.  It says 36 that doesn't =85 either.   Any input would be appreciated.  The math I'm using is pi x radius squared x stroke divided by1000. ??? ??? ???

Hey Kenneth! I actually have two of these saws here, I wonder if they are maybe not even P85s? It still does not explain the Acres listing of 85cc with 52/36 bore/stroke.

Look what I found:

Guess I better check the stroke again.

If it has a 40mm stroke, that would make it 84.905cc.

There are several bore/stroke mistakes in the Partner section of Acres site, as well as several misleading pictures.

The correct stroke is 40mm. ;)

Well I chucked the crankshaft up in the lathe, and used the cross-slide readout to measure. It does have close to a 40mm stroke, as in 39.875 after transposing from English to metric measurements.

The P85 runs again! Here is video of it after a basic porting job and squish adjustment.
