I'm not up on all this different fuel line stuff.  So is this Tygon LP 1200 going to be a line to handle ethanol?  Any other info on subject.

--- Quote from: Merle Nelson --- Just learned that Tygon will be coming out with another fuel line hopefully in March after EPA hurdles (Tygon LP1200.)

I use it for the old Poulan 25 variants.  Tygon 4040A fails in 5 months or so, LP 1100 which I just got a role of is supposed to “de-laminate” and cause problems when changing out fuel filters after a time.  It’s a bit stiff too.  LP 1200 is supposed to be the wonder child.  Or so says the tech guy I talked to.

The 4040A like what you have in stock and what they sell at Glenns has been the best for gasoline so far

I was wondering what I had. Thanks Jim.

Merle Nelson:
Cut4fun invited me on and to post on the thread - Thanks!

The Tech guy I talked to on the phone who told me about LP1200 asked what I was using now.  I said well, Tygon 4040A, I was told it was the best so I bought a roll.  He said actually it’s not intended for that application (submerged in gasoline).  I said ahhh... someone should get the word out then cause that’s what all the shops and people I know are using (on old 25DAs anyway.)

So I had already ordered a roll of LP1100 from a supplier-US Plastics.  It is supposed to be ok with up to 100% ethanol.  That it is a laminate leads me to suspect that it is not supposed to sit in gas all the time either - though I did not ask the tech guy from the factory this question.  Feels a little stiff to me for following the gas around inside a 25DA tank but, I think it will work.

I’m looking forward to LP1200 and hoping it will be a one time answer.  In the mean time I trust that the LP1100 will be far better than replacing 4040A every so many months and smelling raw gas through the day as the indicator that my fuel line has shrunk and hardened.

If anyone has wanted to try LP1100 and give knowledgable input to the rest, I would send a length out to the first couple of posters/PMrs. ( 3/32 ID, 3/16 OD 3/64 Wall thickness) Length of line?  Mailing info.?
